Rev. Michael Palmer was called on November 1, 2020 to be the Transitional Pastor.  Pastor Palmer has a doctor of ministry (DMin) degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  His specialty is the area of church revitalization and church health.  He has been the associate pastor at Hollins Road Baptist Church,  pastor of Fellowship Baptist in NW Indiana; Mineral Springs Baptist in Vinton, and twenty six years as the pastor of Green Ridge Baptist Church in north Roanoke County.  He also served as a transitional pastor at Riverdale Baptist Church in southeast Roanoke city.  A Transitional Pastor is more than an “interim” pastor.  The Transitional Pastor is tasked with sharpening the focus of the church and helping it become more effective for its gospel mission.  Boones Mill Baptist has done this with a view to helping the people in this region live a vital Christ connected life.  The church will be moving toward a fresh vision for a new day as they prepare to form a pastor search committee in the near future.  Pastor Palmer is married to Hazel.  They have two children, Daniel Palmer and Suzanne P. Inge.  Daniel is the pastor of North Roanoke Baptist Church and Suzanne Inge is a lawyer in the Chase City, VA area.  They each have two children.  We are glad to have Pastor Palmer with us as we renew our vision.
