What is AWANA?
Awana is an amazing Bible-memorization ministry for children 3 years old – 6th grade held during the school year. It is the mission of Boones Mill Baptist Church to reach the children from our church and the surrounding community with the gospel of Jesus Christ and encourage them to serve Him. The weekly program is designed to give boys and girls the opportunity to build lasting friendships, establish positive role models, and provide practical life lessons in a safe and fun Christian environment. Lives will be changed through the year!
Cubbies - Ages 3-4 (2-year-olds may join if potty trained)
Sparks - Kindergarten to 2nd grade
Truth and Training -3rd to 6th grade
(At the 7th-grade level children join our youth ministry)
WHAT ARE AWANA MEETINGS LIKE?
The doors open at 6:15 for check-in and club begins at 6:30 in the gym. We begin our evening with the opening ceremony which consists of prayer, pledges, and songs. The clubs are then dismissed to either game or club time.
Awana games are awesome! Relay races, bean bag tosses, crab soccer, scooter races and much, much more! Always a favorite part of the evening!
During club, the clubbers will have a large group session in which a practical lesson in Christian living is taught. There is also a handbook session which provides the clubbers the opportunity to develop relationships in a small group setting while reinforcing scripture memory work.
Club ends at 8:15 pm with dismissal in the fellowship hall where parents will pick up their children.
