Ministries in Music
Music is an important part of our praise and worship to the Lord. We have several opportunities for you to serve in Music Ministry.
Our Adult Choir is enjoying growth and we invite you to join us. The Adult Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Not only is it a time of learning music, it is a time of worship and fellowship. The choir leads the congregation in songs of praise and worship in the Sunday Morning Worship Services. Bob Mullin is our Worship Leader, assisted by Paulette Sain.
Our Handbell Choir adds special music to our services during the year. The choir rehearses on every other Sunday at 5:00 p.m. There is a place for you in this ministry. Some of our bell ringers are accomplished musicians and some are learning and playing music for the first time. We have all ages in our choir. If making music is something you have wanted to try, handbells is a good place to get your start. You will get the instruction you need. See Bob Mullin.
An instrumental ensemble is rehearsing on every other Sunday at 5:00 p.m. This is a new and growing group. It is now playing in special music performances and will soon be playing regularly on Sunday Mornings. We need instrumentalists. If you used to play, join us and you will be surprised at how you can get back to your old playing skills. We need all instruments...woodwinds, brass, strings, keyboard and a drummer. This is an important ministry and will add to our Worship Services.
Some of our choir singers regularly go to Red Oak Assisted Living on Sunday mornings to participate in the Worship Service held there for the residents.
There are opportunities for children to sing and perform. They perform a musical at Christmas and occassionally in the Sunday Worship service.
